Behavior Rehabilitation
Behavior rehabilitation is often needed when the negative behaviors are deeply ingrained in a dog. Aggression, whether dominance or fear based, is a very good candidate for behavior rehabilitation. Frustration and anxiety are also behaviors that benefit greatly from behavior rehabilitation and it's deeper, more personalized approach. As an example, if your dog's "protective instinct" is so strong that he lunges, barks and snaps at all dogs and people on your routine walks and the whole neighborhood knows who you are, your dog will greatly benefit from behavior rehabilitation. All dogs must go through an initial evaluation and consultation before signing up. This program provides immediate and intense mental, emotional, and behavioral rehabilitation for the dog. We must restructure the dog's relationship with his world, his family and his leader - in most cases permanently! If your initial consultation recommends behavior rehabilitation, it will usually be paired with an Obedience Training and/or Boot Camp program to replace those strongly ingrained negative behavior with something more positive. For example, by teaching the dog how to walk on a leash properly and focus on you - his leader - he'll have no choice but to follow your every move and command on your walks. And this is how the nasty lunging and barking behavior can be replaced with calm and obedient behavior. Your dog will finally relax and so will you and your neighbors! Sound like a miracle?
